Annie Bosko stopped by The Bobby Bones Show for the first time to share her musical journey, the songs sheโs written for other country artists and more. ย
Bosko and Joe Nichols have a song called โBetter Than You,โ that came together in a dream way for her because she considers Nichols to be one of the greatest voices in country music. She always jokes that it was fitting she would do a duet with a man named Joe because her father, brother and nephew are all named Joe and she says she comes from a family of Joeโs. When she got pitched the song, it felt powerful and like a vocal show piece for her and reminded her of the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill duets she grew up on. ย
Bosko knew college was not for her, so she moved to Nashville 18 years ago to pursue music. While living in California, she packed her Jeep and drove to Nashville with a few friends she did musical theater with. She is one of five kids and looking back she canโt believe her parents let her do that. When she got to Nashville, she did not know a single person and started working in bars, restaurants and cleaning houses to make ends meet. Then she started cutting demos and performing at places at night! ย
Bosko recalled how her friendship with Jelly Roll started after he brought her on stage to perform. They had met at CRS, and she was wearing a neon onesie for her song โNeon Baby,โ and Jelly Roll told her he loved her spirit. After that, they kept running into each other at festivals and would hangout backstage. A lot of country artists have cut songs sheโs written like Willie Nelsonโs โYour Fool,โ Marie Osmondโs โWild & Sweet,โ Jessica Simpsonโs โYour Fool,โ and โHeartbeat,โ which she included in her audio book. Rita Wilson has also recorded a handful of songs sheโs written like โAlong For The Ride,โ and โBig City, Small Town Girl.โ ย
While in studio, Bosko performed a medley of her songs โHeart Burnโ that she released this year with Dwight Yoakam and her new song โCalifornia Cowgirlโ that is coming out soon! ย
