PennDOT announced this morning that Outbound I-376 Parkway East will be closed Friday night, June 28 through Monday morning, July 1 weather permitting. Check out the release below for information and detour maps.
UPDATE:
Additionally, a single-lane restriction will occur in the inbound (westbound) direction between the bridge over Saline Street and the bridge over Bates Street. The restriction will occur from Friday night at 8 p.m. continuously through noon on Sunday.

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing the closure of eastbound (outbound) I-376 (Parkway East) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Friday night, June 28 through Monday morning, July 1 weather permitting.
A full closure of the outbound Parkway East will occur between the Forbes Avenue/Oakland (Exit 72A) off-ramp and the Edgewood/Swissvale (Exit 77) interchange from 8 p.m. Friday night continually through 5 a.m. Monday morning. All traffic will be detoured.
Additionally, the following ramps will begin closing at 7 p.m. Friday night:
- Outbound (southbound) Boulevard of the Allies (Route 885) ramp to outbound I-376
- Bates Avenue ramp to outbound I-376
- Beechwood Boulevard ramp to outbound I-376
- Westbound (inbound) I-376 off-ramp to Squirrel Hill/Homestead (Exit 74)

Police will assist motorists at key intersections on the detour routes.
The Edgewood/Swissvale (Exit 77) interchange will remain open this weekend.
Significant delays should be expected. Motorists should consider alternate routes and allow extra travel time during this closure. Travelers near the City of Pittsburgh should consider Route 28 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. For points east of Monroeville, travelers south and west of the City of Pittsburgh should consider I-79 to I-70 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Crews from Swank Construction will conduct expansion dam replacement, guide rail improvements, approach slab work, line painting, and drainage work.
