Fisher and his Mom Philana came by the show to share how they found out about his brain cancer and how St. Jude has impacted them in their journey. They come from Louisiana and Fisher is now 11-years-old and a very strong kid despite everything he has been through. Madelyn and her parents Brittany and Matt from Spring Hill, Tennessee also stopped by the studio to share how they ended up at St. Jude. Madelyn is 7-years-old and she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and medulloblastoma. Her parents shared how incremental St. Jude has been from the very first diagnosis. They wanted to help raise awareness and money for the organization that not only provided many distractions for their daughter, but also gave them hope through a really difficult time.
This year's Radiothon broke the show's record for amount raised for St. Jude with $2.85 million! This is all thanks to the listeners of the show who became partners in hope.
