A Redditor has started a debate about gender reveal party etiquette. They revealed in a post that their friend is charging $20 for people to attend the party and wondered if it was rude.
They wrote:
Personally, I don’t mind going, especially since they’re a good friend and I’d love to hang out and catch up. I also don’t mind paying $20 bucks but I do think it’s bad taste. I don’t think other guests will take it as lightly as I am.
The person went on to explain that the couple is having the gender reveal at a venue and it is being catered, and they don't want gifts. They also said the wife is Japanese and it is "apparently it’s normal for guests to pay in Japan."
