I was going to write a bunch of different blogs about this, but I figured jamming all of it into one was probably better. Last night the St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. They entered the league the same year as the Penguins - 1967. Every other team that joined the league in that expansion had won a title except for the Blues up until last night. I was thrilled to see them win it. Obviously if I could choose I would have the Penguins win every single year forever, but I will settle for and team that beats the Bruins any day.
The celebration was FILLED with great content....and ALOT of swearing that made it on national TV (NSFW)
As an NBC exec, you have to just kind of assume that some swearing is gonna leak out. These guys have waited to lift this trophy their whole lives so you bet they are gonna scream F*CK YEAHHHHH BOYSSSS as much as they can.
The Cardinals had a watch party after the Enterprise center sold out in like 4 minutes and they ended up packing over 25,000 people into a baseball stadium to watch the game. I really hope that we can do something like that the next time the Penguins go on a run. Look how incredible this was.
