Even though things aren't even close to normal, a tradition continues as Pittsburgh Restaurant week gets going for the 9th straight year! What is it you ask?
From their site: The mission of Pittsburgh Restaurant Week is to highlight the wide-ranging dining options that Pittsburgh has to offer and bring individuals from surrounding boroughs or suburbs to the city to walk the streets and enjoy a meal at a special discounted price. The goal of the event is to highlight the numerous and diverse dining options within the community to the greater Pittsburgh region. Restaurant weeks are designed to help boost business during what is typically a slower time of the year. Traditionally during restaurant week, restaurants offer dining deals, like prix-fixe meals, to give patrons the opportunity to experience the areas dining landscape without breaking the bank.
Personally I love Restaurant week because it allows me to explore some places in different parts of town that I would not normally try at a fraction of the price. Because of these deals I have been able to expand my horizons - which can be hard for a picky eater like me! And before you ask, YES there are lots of places participating this year with a take out option if you feel safer grabbing your meal to go. Some places are even extending their deals for 2 weeks to maximize on the promotion. Some places fill up very quickly, so I suggest you take a look at the list of restaurants and make reservations ASAP!
