Just an absolutely bizarre scene in Huntington WV as reporter Tori Yorgey was reporting live on road closures associated with a water main break. She's in the middle of her conversation with the news desk and then BAM - she gets hit by a frieken car. That alone would be enough for me to end the night, but she not only gets up unfazed, but she continues to push through and finish the report. THANKFULLY she was just fine, but this girl deserves a raise for maintaining the level of professionalism that she did to keep going.
I do think its pretty wild that the producers didn't cut away from her entirely. You'd think as soon as something went wrong, they would move off of her shot and check in on her safety. But no, in this case we just watched it play out live. The driver appeared remorseful, but how in the heck can you have a drivers license and smoke a reporter right in the middle of the road like that?
We will be seeing much more of Tori here in Pittsburgh in the months ahead. As our friends at the Trib reported, she will be joining WTAE as a new reporter there.
