Always good to see a video about Kennywood trending in the top 10 on YouTube!
In this case, it's a video detailing the lengthy history of the Old Mill Ride. As you learn in the video, the name has changed several times over, the most bizarre chunk of history being the "Garfield's Nightmare" era. I get so invested in things like this - but the funniest part of the video by far comes around the 24:40 mark. He goes into detail about how Kennywood would go about policing younger folks that would use it as a "tunnel of love" of sorts....you get what I mean (wink emoji) Those tales were ones you'd hear about ever now and again in a group of friends, but funny to see that so many people emailed with stories of their own.
The Old Mill is BACK in action these days - and I have heard nothing but incredible things about all of the major upgrades that were made to Kennywood in the offseason. There were significant investments into buildings, rides, events and other infrastructure, and people seem thrilled. As a lifelong West Mifflin resident, it is my duty to make a visit there for some pizza (seriously the stand by kiddieland has FIRE pizza) and some fun soon.
