I haven't sat and watched an entire MLB game in YEARS. Even when I've been to PNC Park recently, I see about 10 live pitches before my attention turns to the social component. But for some reason I find myself watching the 2022 MLB Field of Dreams game in it's entirety - because it's cool as hell that's why. I could care less about the Cubs and the Reds, but I am a SUCKER for special events like this across any of the major sports. I will give the NHL some credit for getting the ball rolling with the introduction of the Winter Classic years ago - but this event just makes sense. I mean who hasn't seen the movie Field Of Dreams before? I barely see any movies, but that is an instant classic and it deserves its own spot on the MLB calendar every single year.
Now that I read more about it, it looks like they are taking a break from this game next year while the complex is under construction - but I hope they continue this for years to come. Maybe get the Pirates in the mix at some point? That would be sweet. Check out the intro + some of the sights.
